Ben became Troop 205's first Eagle Scout, having been a member since the Troop's beginning in 1990. His Eagle Board of Review was February, 1997 at the Klondike over in Hershey Meadows camp ground. His Eagle project consisted of clearing and renovating a parking lot (clearing the area of weeds, planting grass, and building a park bench and retaining wall for a large tree) behind Laurel Lake at Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Cumberland County. Ben also planned and built a display of the results of some historical research he did at the Cumberland County Historical Society in Carlisle on the ice manufacturing facility there at the park about one hundred years ago. To accomplish all of this Ben enlisted the help of other Scouts from Troops 205, 101 and a Harrisburg Troop, in the Blue Mountain District.

Ben graduated Penn State University in State College, PA, in May 2002 with a major in computer science, and is currently employed by Rite Aid Corporation as a software engineer.
